Whether you're building, remodelling, or repairing, our experience extends to finding solutions to keep water in check-both indoors and outside your home.
Wetfix Waterproofing carries out waterproofing installations in new buildings in accordance with the Australian Standard for waterproofing residential buildings (AS3740-2004). The waterproofing membranes used by Wetfix comply with AS4858.
1. Wet Areas
Every home has areas that are meant to be wet. Wetfix Waterproofing services ensure that your wet areas don't intrude into the dry areas of your home. Wetfix Waterproofing stops water leaks, overflows, and moisture problems from room perimeter to waste area.
- Shower Tray
- Full Shower Walls - These are only required when water resistant sheeting is not already present.
- Shower Hob - We install shower hobs for enclosed showers. Hebel Shower hobs that are 50mm high and 100 mm wide are standard, however specially ordered hob sizes are also available.
- Waterstop Angle - For showers that have a hobless design, we install a 47mm x 47mm plastic waterstop angle bedded up to and covered over by your shower screen.
- Bath Flashings - These seal all joints at wall/bath edges and floor/bath edges as well as sheet joints on the bath itself.
- Perimeter Flashings (wall/floor joint) - A reinforcing fabric is laid over the joint and coated with membrane up to 100mm each side of the joint.
- Full Floor Areas - Wetfix waterproofs full floor areas by turning down into the waste for slab on ground construction and turned upon to walls as in perimeter flashings.
- Seal-A-Waste - This takes care of seepage problems around waste areas and is suitable for above ground construction floor areas that are constructed with either timber or FC Sheet (Fibre Cement).
- Angle At Door - This provides a perimeter flashing at floor level openings. These are usually aluminium and can be 12mm or more in height.
Exterior Waterproofing
2. Balconies «» Decks «» Verandas
We coat your tiled concrete balcony with a suitable waterproofing membrane, turning edges up onto walls and down into drains. If your balcony is constructed with Fibre Cement Sheeting, we use elasto-flex bandage for maximum strength and flexibility over the joints, turning the membrane over the edge, up onto the wall or floor joint, and into any waste outlets. See our article regarding balconies constructed using C.F.C Sheeting for more details.
3. Planter Boxes
We install a high quality, waterproofing membrane over surfaces to prevent water leaking from your planter box. If provided, we’ll turn the waterproofing membrane into drainage outlet pipes and all internal corners will be covered in preparation. We protect your surfaces with corflute protection board.
4. Rooftops «» Podiums
Our premium grade rooftop membrane weathers the severest of environmental conditions. As well as a superior waterproofing solution for leaks caused by rain and storms, it is rugged enough to endure permanent water immersion and tolerate harsh UV conditions.
Each rooftop has individual requirements. Contact Wetfix with yours and we'll put together a proposal to suit.
5. Retaining Wall
Preparation required includes filling perps (mortar joints) and having core filling completed. We coat vertical surfaces with a latex rubber membrane that can either be rolled on or sprayed for larger areas. The membrane is turned onto the footing, which is coated with a cementitious crystalline growth product for extra strength at this crucial point. Finally, we protect the membrane with corflute protection board.
Our unique system uses a combination of materials and applications that is also extremely successful in preventing moisture penetration into basements.
6. Pond «» Water Feature
Wetfix creates custom solutions for your pond or water feature to both control leaks and meet your aesthetic requirements. The membrane choice and method of installation depends on the substrate in use, the aesthetic requirements, and the role your pond plays in your landscape (e.g. will you keep fish in your pond?).
7. Miscellaneous Areas
If it can be made water tight, Wetfix will find a way to do it. From the problems mentioned above to box gutters, awnings, post tops... just about any area that has an issue with water penetration we can treat it.
Wherever you have water penetration problems, you can depend on
Wetfix Waterproofing for the solution.
